The Place
The unusual weir at Bowbridge is fenced to prevent people falling down the culvert (pipe) which takes overflow water downstream.
From here onwards, the canal was still in water before the recent restoration and pathways were restored to Rodborough and Minchinhampton Commons.
The People
Former Canal Society Chairman, Mike Ayland enthuses about early restoration work and Chris Balodis enthuses about local wildlife here, whilst Howard Beard has mixed memories of Bowbridge.
