Look out for Cotswold Canals Trust maintenance boats moored here. Volunteers can often be seen clearing the canal. You might also be able to find a small plaque with an image of a trow, one of the boats that operated on the canal many years ago. New houses have been built along the old Midland Railway wharf, known as Stonehouse Wharf.
Ken Burgin, chief executive of the Cotswold Canals Partnership, is enthusiastic about how the canal restoration will be of benefit to local people like Chris Balodis, who, like many people, use the waterway.
